A single Facebook group history post names him as one of Ushijima Tatsukuma's 'three musketeers' alongside Tokio Hirano and Masahiko Kimura; no independent corroboration was found

“And while the Butokukai was closed in1946 the legacy of Judo that Ushijima created lived on in the accomplishments and exploits of his three best students well into the 50's and 60's. Call them his three musketeers. They were not Athos, Porthos and Aramis with weapons of swords and guns but Tokio Hirano, Masahiko Kimura and Takahiko Ishikawa armed with lethal Judo. [...] The third of this trio was Takahiko Ishikawa. In one All Japan Ishikawa and Kimura fought a scoreless match for 25 minutes with both being declared All Japan champions”
