  Possible

A 2014 forum post says its author has pictures of Shōriki training under Mifune. No source states that Mifune taught him, and the photograph shows training together, which does not establish teaching. This is why it is possible and not probable.

Some evidence points to the claim, but it is thin, indirect, or in unresolved conflict with other evidence.

Japanese Wikipedia and the Judo Channel timeline give 10th dan in October 1969; Judo Info says he was promoted after his death on 9 October 1969, and a forum post says the certificate was dated 8 October. The award was therefore posthumous and 8 October is the date on the certificate. No source cites a Kodokan record, so it is not certain.

The evidence favours the claim and nothing credible contradicts it, but it falls short of establishing it.
