      Probable
JA wiki (Muso Shinden Eishin-ryu): Hosokawa, whose teacher was Shimomura Shigeichi, carried the school on to the Taisho period and received its menkyo kaiden from him in 1868. One source (the school's article), no independent corroboration found, hence probable.
The evidence favours the claim and nothing credible contradicts it, but it falls short of establishing it.
