  Probable

JA wiki (Monna Tadashi) records that after his 1868 release he studied Suifu-ryū under Toyoshima Genpachi at the Kōdōkan, receiving menkyō kaiden; single secondary source, but specific (school, teacher, license).

The evidence favours the claim and nothing credible contradicts it, but it falls short of establishing it.
