Personal koryu research site on the Ban (罔) clan traditions of Shiga Prefecture. Documents the Shinden Fudo-ryu Kempo (神伝不動流馗法) tradition transmitted in the Koga (甲賀) region, meaning that it is a kempo/grappling-lineage art distinct from the Shinden Fudo-ryu Dakentaijutsu school described in English-language sources. States that the theory's founder was the priest Suigetsu Roshi (酔月翁了心), that it was transmitted by the bozu (transmittal priests of Taga-taisha) and the Ban family, and includes the direct statement that "there are also those who inherit a Shinden Fudo-ryu with the same name but an entirely different lineage" - i.e., the name is homonymous across distinct schools. Supports the caveat that E.W. Barton-Wright's "Shinden Fudo ryu Kempo" (studied in Kobe c.1895-98) may belong to a different lineage from the Dakentaijutsu school.
