  Probable

Otaki Tadao was one of the judo instructors at Tokyo Higher Normal School who taught Abe, both at the summer workshops Abe attended as a Maebashi schoolboy and during Abe's own studies there (1941-1944). Based on Abe's own words in the Kodokan Judo magazine interview.

The evidence favours the claim and nothing credible contradicts it, but it falls short of establishing it.
