Japanese judoka and judo theorist, born 1908. A teacher of judo at Tokyo Higher Normal School, one of the teachers of Ichiro Abe. Co-author with Donn F. Draeger of "Judo: Formal Techniques" (Tuttle, 1983) and author of judo works including "Judo: Ten Lectures" (柔道十講, 1959).
