Description
Kenjutsu is an umbrella term for the ko-budo schools of Japanese swordsmanship
that predate the Meiji Restoration, emphasizing real combat scenarios rather
than the sport rules of its modern descendant, Kendo. The oldest surviving
schools, including Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu, trace to the Muromachi
period.
